A shot of France in the distance as
she sails out of Southampton. Then a long sequence in
grainy black and white film as she enters the same port
after crossing the Channel. Finally another nice
colour shot pans along the ship.

Launched as Viet-Nam for Messageries Maritimes
in 1952 as one of three sisters, she became Pacifique
in 1967. In 1970, she was sold to Panama and renamed Princess
Abeto. Later in life she was sold to Malaysian owners.
She caught fire while undergoing repairs and was finally
scrapped in 1976.
Pacifique waits her turn at the entrance to the Suez
canal.
